Global Tuberculosis Report 2012

This is the seventeenth global report on tuberculosis (TB) published by WHO in a series that started in 1997. It provides a comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of the TB epidemic and progress in implementing and financing TB prevention, care and control at global, regional and country levels using data reported by 204 countries and territories that account for over 99% of the world’s TB cases.

Assessing Tuberculosis Under-Reporting Through Inventory Studies

The main purpose of this guide is to describe and explain how to design, implement and analyse an inventory study to measure TB under-reporting. The guide also explains how to apply capture-recapture methods to estimate TB incidence, emphasizing the conditions that must be fulfilled for these methods to be used. This guide is intended for use by NTP managers, researchers including epidemiologists and statisticians, and agencies that provide financial and technical support for inventory studies.

TB Personal Stories

These stories highlight the personal experiences of several people who were diagnosed and treated for TB disease, as well as the work of TB control professionals. You can share individual stories on social media using the social media graphics included on several of the survivor story pages.

An Activist’s Guide to Bedaquiline (Sirturo)

This guide is designed to explain the safety and efficacy of bedaquiline. It also describes what you as an activist can do to help ensure access, fair pricing and further research. The guide provides messages that regulatory authorities need to hear to prepare for bedaquiline and other new TB drugs.

Community-Based Tuberculosis Prevention and Care: Why and How to Get Involved

It provides information on TB and how it is prevented, diagnosed, and treated, how TB programs work on the ground, how communities and CSOs can get involved, and special populations that need extra attention. Step-by-step guidance on getting started in addressing TB, pitfalls to avoid, and a list of useful resources are included.
