Advice on Samples for Tuberculosis Testing

How to give a sample for testing for pulmonary tuberculosis. Most diagnostic tests for TB examine sputum coughed from the lungs. The lack of access to TB diagnosis is a major barrier to controlling TB which kills nearly 2 million people every year. New sensitive tests that are affordable and that can be used in a low tech environment are urgently needed.

Training Package on Xpert MTB/RIF

This set of 11 training modules on the Xpert MTB/RIF assay was developed by Global Laboratory Initiative partners, including FIND, KNCV, USAID, CDC and WHO. The modules include topics such as biosafety, specimen collection and transportation, supplies management, installation, Xpert MTB/RIF procedures, recording and reporting, and troubleshooting.

La tuberculosis: ¡Proteja a su familia!

This poster raises awareness about TB and encourages people to seek medical attention by calling a local number if they experience TB symptoms. It was developed for and tested with low-literacy Spanish-speaking populations to optimize linguistic and cultural appropriateness.

The poster is available in three sizes: 8"x10", 11"x17", and 24"x36".
