This report highlights the issues surrounding high prices and poor supply of the drugs needed to treat drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB). The report provides an overview of available drug-resistant TB medicines, including drug sources, quality status, and price.

Preventing and Controlling TB in Correctional Settings Webinar Series

These four webinars highlight challenges, legal requirements, and best practice strategies for preventing and controlling TB in correctional facilities. These webinars were produced by the Minnesota Department of Health in consultation with several local public health agencies and correctional agency staff.

The four webinars include:

Essentials for the Mycobacteriology Laboratory: Promoting Quality Practices

This series of interactive modules was developed by the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Topics include laboratory safety, specimen collection, AFB smear microscopy, mycobacterial culture, and drug susceptibility testing. The modules are also available in PDF format for use in laboratory training programs.

Tuberculosis Radiology Image Library

This website is an open-access resource library of radiographic images of tuberculosis. Individuals may use these images to gain an appreciation for the broad spectrum of radiographic manifestations of tuberculosis. The images are free to download and share for non-commercial educational purposes. To contribute radiographs and help grow this site, submit images to the editors at CurryTBcenter@ucsf.edu.

Mycobacteriology Laboratory Manual

This laboratory manual references best practices from the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI), the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND) MGIT Procedure Manual, and laboratory procedures from the National Institutes of Health TB Research Unit, as well as biosafety recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Information in the manual includes standardized procedures related to sputum collection, handling, analyses, and reporting.

The TB Voices Project

The TB Voices Project documented individuals' TB experience using photos, video/voice recordings, and/or their written story. Twenty-eight people from across King and Snohomish County, Washington shared their TB experiences through the TB Voices Project in 2013. The website contains: video and audio clips of more than 25 TB stories; a 13 minute video applicable for all audiences; and an active blog.
