MDR-TB Planning Toolkit

The MDR-TB Planning Toolkit is designed to help assist countries develop or strengthen a multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) component within their national TB strategy or plan. Eight tools contain worksheets to assist the user through key planning steps. The toolkit is intended for countries, technical partners, international organizations, and donors.

TB Personal Stories

These stories highlight the personal experiences of several people who were diagnosed and treated for TB disease, as well as the work of TB control professionals. You can share individual stories on social media using the social media graphics included on several of the survivor story pages.

Tuberculosis in Hispanics/Latinos

This fact sheet presents TB morbidity rates for Hispanic/Latino persons in the United States. These statistics emphasize the need to eliminate TB and to focus on preventing and controlling TB in this minority group.

TB Contact Investigation Interviewing Skills Course

The TB Contact Investigation Interviewing Skills Course is an interactive, skills-building training. It is designed to improve the knowledge and proficiency of both new and experienced TB program staff.

An Activist’s Guide to Tuberculosis Drugs

This guide provides a summary of safety and efficacy data for drugs currently in use to treat TB. The guide also suggests advocacy points for activists, clinicians, and others working in TB.

Childhood TB Training Toolkit

The purpose of this training toolkit is to build the capacity of health care workers to address and manage TB in children. The toolkit consists of ten modules. Topics include epidemiology of childhood TB, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, TB/HIV co-infection, multidrug-resistant TB, and community-based child TB management.

TB Medication Fact Sheets

This series of patient education fact sheets provides information on drugs used in the treatment of TB (e.g., Clofazimine, Ethambutol, Ethionamide, Isoniazid, Levofloxacin, Moxifloxacin, PASER [p-aminosalicylic acid granules], Pyrazinamide, Pyridoxine, Rifabutin, Rifampin, Streptomycin). The fact sheets include information on medication side effects, actions to take if side effects occur, and instructions in the event a dose of medication is missed.

TB Infection Patient Educational Materials

The goal of these materials is to teach patients about TB infection and to motivate them to start and complete treatment if diagnosed. The materials are designed to encourage provider-patient interactions for active learning through the process of testing and treatment decisions. There are four materials in this series and it is suggested to use the materials as a continuum, as they build upon each other.
