HIV Data Protection Landscape For EHE Jurisdictions

The map summarizes state laws and regulations that addresses authorities and protections related to the health departments HIV surveillance data release, which is in response to data requests from courts, prosecutors, and law enforcement agencies. It also reflects laws in Priority Jurisdictions included in Phase I of the federal “Ending the HIV Epidemic: Plan for America” (EHE) initiative, which aims to end the HIV epidemic in the United States by 2030.

HIV/HCV Co-infection Patient Engagement Tools for Providers

This video makes healthcare providers aware of the HIV/HCV co-infection patient engagement tools developed by the AETC Program, which helps providers who care for people co-infected with HIV & HCV stay engaged in their HCV care to achieve a sustained virologic response.

HIV Criminalization Legal and Policy Assessment Tool

This assessment tool is designed to help individuals and organizations, including state and local health departments determine the extent to which jurisdiction laws and regulations can impede HIV surveillance, facilitating privacy breaches and criminalizing HIV infections as well as related risk behaviors.

Best Practices for Shared ADAP and Other 340B Covered Entity Clients

This resource aims to support AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAPs) in establishing clear 340B discount right-of-way expectations, policies, and processes in coordination with other covered entities to ensure that critical program income and/or rebate revenue vital to HIV service delivery in the United States is maximized without the risk of duplication.

Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) Legal Series – HIV Criminalization

On October 26, 2022, NASTAD hosted the second installment of the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) Legal Series discussing HIV Criminalization. NASTAD Health System Integration Senior Manager Dori Molozanov, JD presented on the history, impact, and modernization of HIV criminalization laws. Special guest Adrian Guzman, J.D, MPH also presented on HIV criminalization efforts in the New York City Department of Health and Hygiene.
