This document informs national TB programs and stakeholders about the key implications for the treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis. This resource is available before the release of the updated guidelines in order for planning at the country level. The guidelines are expected to be released in 2020.

The materials were developed for clinicians to use with patients while discussing the 12-dose regimen for the treatment of latent TB infection. The materials include a patient education brochure, medication tracker, and symptom checklist. The brochure contains information on latent TB infection, the 12-dose regimen, and adverse events. The medication tracker includes space to write treatment schedules, medication intake, and doctor/clinic contact information. There is also a checklist of signs and symptoms that may develop while using the 12-dose regimen.

Speakers for this webinar include the Deputy Director of the Global TB Institute and a survivor of MDR-TB. By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to: define stigma in the context of tuberculosis prevention and care, describe how stigma affects persons with tuberculosis, and apply interventions in the health care setting and community to reduce stigma.

The website includes various resources that were developed to address the difficulties that HIV programs might encounter when implementing TB preventive treatment. Programs can adapt the tools as needed.
