Stop TB Partnership- TB Info Media Pack

A variety of advocacy materials that were released by the Stop TB Partnership ahead of the United Nations High-Level General Assembly Meeting. The materials include TB FAQs, fact sheets, Key Asks from TB stakeholders and communities, a list per country of people who do not receive TB care and treatment, country-specific TB data tiles, important organizations and partners, and Voices from the TB survivors (video and quotes).

European Framework to Decrease the Burden of TB/HIV

This guideline sets forth the framework to guide European countries in developing their national plan for reducing TB/HIV morbidity and mortality. The framework sets out the rationale for effective collaboration between HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis national programs.

Progress Report on the Global Plan to Stop Tuberculosis

This report describes the progress of the Stop TB Partnership. It reports that TB control is succeeding around the world. The challenges include increasing and sustaining new funding levels; strengthening the public health system, including the availability, capacity, and motivation of human resources; empowering households and communities; engaging providers in the private and other sectors; and creating and adopting new technology, such as diagnostics, drugs, and vaccines.

Practical Approach to Lung Health: A Primary Health Care Strategy for the Integrated Management of Respiratory Conditions in People of Five Years of Age and Over

This report developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) describes a strategy to integrate management of respiratory conditions to improve TB case detection. The PAL aims to improve TB diagnosis and care by improving (1) the quality of respiratory care in primary health care (PHC) settings, and (2) the efficiency of respiratory service delivery within health systems.

Civil Society Perspectives on TB Policy in Brazil

This report highlights the work of community-based organizations and people living with HIV/AIDS in advocating for coordinated TB and HIV policies and services in their countries. The report presents case studies that highlight community advocates’ strategies, achievements, and lessons learned.

HIV testing for life… HIV testing for all tuberculosis patients

This book encourages health care workers to offer HIV testing to TB patients. The book contains real life stories and photos of patients and health staff, communication tips, and research data to support how HIV testing is beneficial to TB patients.

Endangering Lives: Tuberculosis and Mutation

This booklet calls upon national programs for TB control, donors, financing institutions, civil society, media, and communities to join hands in intensifying the fight against drug-resistant TB.

TB and Cultural Competency: Finding My Voice

The latest issue of the New Jersey Medical School Global Tuberculosis Institute’s Cultural Competency newsletter focused on patient advocacy. The issue was released in conjunction with World TB Day. It highlights the moving story of one patient’s experience with a TB diagnosis, and how she helped other TB patients, their loved ones and healthcare providers in the struggle against TB. The issue also includes information on confronting stigma, extrapulmonary TB and advocacy resources.
