The Cultural Quick Reference Guide for Afghanistan provides country-specific information on cultural norms, health practices, treatment considerations, facts and traditional ideas about TB, and courtesies to observe to enhance communication.

This educational flipbook can be used by nurses and other healthcare workers to provide TB education to patients, family members, and other people. The flipbook includes four sections: What is Tuberculosis?,  TB Infection, TB Disease, and Special Circumstances.

This training manual was created to build and strengthen the capacity of people with and affected by TB to better understand the human rights issues and abuses they encounter and be able to respond constructively by building on previous experience in participating in a TB-or and human rights-related activity.

This issue focuses on the story of Raquel Orduño, whose on-going TB advocacy began with a group of people who came together to document and portray their experiences with TB along the United States (U.S.)-Mexico border. It also includes information on advocacy, social support and supportive language.

The latest issue of the New Jersey Medical School Global Tuberculosis Institute’s Cultural Competency newsletter focused on patient advocacy. The issue was released in conjunction with World TB Day. It highlights the moving story of one patient’s experience with a TB diagnosis, and how she helped other TB patients, their loved ones and healthcare providers in the struggle against TB. The issue also includes information on confronting stigma, extrapulmonary TB and advocacy resources.

Patient Puppets, Inc provide medical demonstration puppets and equipment for educating and comforting children. Patient Puppets have the same illness as the child; they can act as a role model to demonstrate TB medical procedures.

The slide set provides an overview of the current recommendations for conducting contact investigations.
