Tuberculosis and Air Travel: Guidelines for Prevention and Control, Second Edition

The revised guidelines address the concerns about transmission of TB
during air travel and provide the following: (i) information on transmission
of TB on aircraft; (ii) a summary of the practices adopted for the
management of patients with infectious TB associated with air travel,
and of commonly encountered diffi culties; (iii) suggestions on practical
ways to reduce the risk of exposure to M. tuberculosis on board commercial
aircraft, and (iv) guidance on procedures to follow and responsibilities

The Global Plan to Stop TB 2011-2015: Transforming the Fight-Towards Elimination of Tuberculosis

This new roadmap for 2011-2015 follows on the Global Plan to Stop TB 2006-2015 while setting new and more ambitious targets for the next five years. The action plan, for the first time, identifies all the research gaps that need to be filled to bring rapid TB tests, faster treatment regimens and a fully effective vaccine to market. It also shows public health programmes how to drive universal access to TB care, including how to modernize diagnostic laboratories and adopt revolutionary TB tests that have recently become available.

Assessing Tuberculosis Under-Reporting Through Inventory Studies

The main purpose of this guide is to describe and explain how to design, implement and analyse an inventory study to measure TB under-reporting. The guide also explains how to apply capture-recapture methods to estimate TB incidence, emphasizing the conditions that must be fulfilled for these methods to be used. This guide is intended for use by NTP managers, researchers including epidemiologists and statisticians, and agencies that provide financial and technical support for inventory studies.

A Framework for Integrating Childhood Tuberculosis into Community-Based Health Care

This document outlines community-based strategies for integrating childhood TB activities, such as TB prevention and identification of TB, with other maternal and child health care services. Suggested modifications for including childhood TB into community-based care models are provided.

Global Tuberculosis Report 2017

WHO has published a global TB report every year since 1997. The main aim of the report is to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of the TB epidemic, and of progress in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease at global, regional and country levels. This report is updated annually.

A Guide to Monitoring and Evaluation for Collaborative TB/HIV Activities

This book was developed to assist in the management of TB and HIV/AIDS programs that are implementing or planning to implement collaborative TB/HIV activities. It is intended to facilitate the collection of standardized data and help in the interpretation and dissemination of these data for program improvement. It aims to ensure consistency across all agencies and stakeholders involved in HIV/AIDS, TB, and collaborative TB/HIV activities.
