Post-Detention Completion of Tuberculosis Treatment for Persons Deported or Released from the Custody of the Immigration and Naturalization Service --- United States, 2003. Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, 52(19): 438-441, May 16, 2003

This report describes three cases that illustrate several issues associated with the deportation of patients with incomplete treatment of TB disease after detention. These cases highlight the need for interagency coordination to ensure completion of treatment for persons being evaluated or treated for TB.

Report on Tuberculosis in California, 2003

This report describes the distribution of TB cases among the population of California and the demographic and clinical characteristics of TB cases in 2003. It presents the risk factors for TB, drug resistance, treatment outcomes of the reporting jurisdictions in California, and recent trends.

Understanding the TB Cohort Review Process: Instruction Guide and DVD Package

This package includes an instruction guide and a DVD. The DVD illustrates the benefits of adopting cohort review and highlights the roles of the cohort review team members. The guide explains the three key elements of the cohort review process and how to adapt the process to your own TB program. The DVD was produced by the CDC, Creative Digital Group, and the Constella Group. The instruction guide was developed by the CDC and the Charles P. Felton National Tuberculosis Center.

Engaging All Health Care Providers in TB Control: Guidance on Implementing Public-Private Mix Approaches

This document guides NTPs on how to engage all relevant health care providers in TB control and thereby promote the use of evidence-based, International Standards for TB Care. The experience and evidence on scaling up and sustaining PPM is now clearly emerging. The authors hope that this document will help countries to scale up PPM DOTS more rapidly and contribute significantly to achieving the TB-related Millennium Development Goal.
