State of Viral Hepatitis During COVID-19

In collaboration with the National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR), the Hepatitis Education Project (HEP), NASTAD, Hep B United, Hepatitis B Foundation, and National Association of County Health Officials (NACCHO), HepVu created a factsheet outlining the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on viral hepatitis and the experiences of clinical providers, community-based organizations, and health departments during COVID-19.

School Reentry Considerations Supporting Student Social and Emotional Learning and Mental and Behavioral Health Amidst COVID-19

Local education agencies and individual schools planning for students and staff to return following COVID-19 closures must prioritize efforts to address social and emotional learning and mental and behavioral health needs. Equally important is ensuring staff feel their physical and mental health needs are supported. Districts should ensure all policies or recommendations are culturally sensitive and ensure equity and access for all youth. 

TB Elimination Alliance Impact Report 2020-2021

Raise awareness about the link between LTBI and TB disease, address misperceptions, decrease stigma, and encourage and facilitate testing and treatment for LTBI and TB. Increase awareness of the recommended shorter treatment regimen for LTBI.
Create a culturally and linguistically appropriate LTBI and TB education, training and community engagement resources and activities that resonate with high priority AA and NH/PI communities. Encourage providers to test and treat LTBI among at-risk populations.

Teaching sexual communication skills is an important component of sex education. Without the ability to communicate about sexual health, young people are not able to make and follow through on healthy decisions and may be put at risk of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. Sex Ed State Law and Policy Chart: SIECUS State Profiles: Aug. 2021

A patchwork of laws relating to sex education exist across the country, with varying requirements. In some states, this has meant a lack of access to sex education or certain components of sex education, and in many other states no access to comprehensive sexuality education for young people. In response to the lack of uniformity in laws and policies regarding sex education across the nation, the following series of tables has been developed to assist with clarifying the state of sex education, HIV/STI instruction, and healthy relationships instruction in the United States.
