This video provides a step-by-step guide for patients on how to collect sputum at home. The video is available in 18 languages (Burmese, English, French, Hmong, Karen, Karenni, Khmer, Kunama, Lao, Mandarin Chinese, Nepali, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Tigrinya, Urdu, and Vietnamese).

New Treatment Regimen for Latent Tuberculosis Infection

The Communications, Education, and Behavioral Studies Branch (CEBSB) in the Division of Tuberculosis Elimination (DTBE) at CDC developed a video podcast on the 12-dose treatment regimen for latent tuberculosis infection. The video podcast features Dr. Kenneth Castro and is available in English and Spanish. Additional 12-dose regimen communication products are available on the CDC TB Web site (http://www.cdc.gov/tb/).

TB and Cultural Competency: Finding My Voice

The latest issue of the New Jersey Medical School Global Tuberculosis Institute’s Cultural Competency newsletter focused on patient advocacy. The issue was released in conjunction with World TB Day. It highlights the moving story of one patient’s experience with a TB diagnosis, and how she helped other TB patients, their loved ones and healthcare providers in the struggle against TB. The issue also includes information on confronting stigma, extrapulmonary TB and advocacy resources.

Being Brave: Stories of Children with Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis

In January 2012, members of the Sentinel Project on Pediatric Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis reached out to organizations treating children with DR-TB in diverse settings and asked them to submit short stories and photos. Treatment of Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB)

This Course is intended as an introduction to multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) management, and is aimed at medical practitioners involved in the detection, management and treatment of MDR-TB patients, under the guiding principles of the World Health Organization's Stop TB Strategy. The Course aims to facilitate self-study by medical practitioners of contemporary, evidence-based standards for diagnosis and clinical management of MDR-TB in a variety of geographical, economic and social settings.
