PrEPare for Life

This guide is to train AIDS service providers, case managers, and peer educators on evidence-based information about Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) as part of comprehensive HIV prevention in order to support their efforts to educate young men that have sex with men (MSM), in particular, young Black and Latino MSM on the new prevention strategy.

Smoking Cessation and Smokefree Environments for Tuberculosis Patients

This Guide describes how to make TB services 100% tobacco-free, then presents ‘ABC for TB’, an intervention for TB programmes to help patients quit smoking and to promote smokefree homes for patients and families. It advocates keeping cessation simple, expanding it widely through the health services and reaching communities. ‘ABC for TB’ does not require specialised staff, clinics or medicines. It is delivered systematically within routine programme activities and can be done within as little as 2-5 minutes. It includes recording and monitoring processes and outcomes.

Tuberculosis Control Laws and Policies: A Handbook for Public Health and Legal Practitioners

This monograph provides information for use by tribal, state, and local public health practitioners and their legal counsel to help improve their understanding and use of relevant laws to respond to challenges concerning TB control. Part I of the monograph contains an introduction and table listing resources on communicable disease and TB control methods in selected US jurisdictions. Part II presents a brief overview of some of the essential components of TB control, including a discussion of the international and national threats of the disease and modern public health interventions.
