DOTS Expansion Plan to Stop TB in the WHO European Region 2002-2006

This report explains the European DOTS Expansion plan to control TB. The plan highlights country needs and resource gaps, emphasizing collaboration with the governments of endemic countries, national and international agencies, and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs). The aim is to stimulate social and political commitment to achieving the global TB targets as part of the overall health system. The plan is based on two principles: the development of national DOTS expansion plans and partnership-building to control TB.

Expanding DOTS in the Context of a Changing Health System

This report provides suggestions that may facilitate increased involvement of the National Tuberculosis Control Program (NTP) in health sector reform, encourage increased technical input into health systems' planning, and promote the strategic positioning of TB control in the context of changing health systems.

Global Tuberculosis Report 2012

This is the seventeenth global report on tuberculosis (TB) published by WHO in a series that started in 1997. It provides a comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of the TB epidemic and progress in implementing and financing TB prevention, care and control at global, regional and country levels using data reported by 204 countries and territories that account for over 99% of the world’s TB cases.
