At Risk Youth

Positive Learning Toolkit

The Global Alliance to End AIDS in Children

An end to AIDS in children, achieved through a strong, strategic, and action-oriented alliance of multisectoral stakeholders at national, regional, and global levels that works with women children and adolescents living with HIV, national governments, and partners to mobilize leadership, funding, and action to end AIDS in children by 2030.

Reporting About Suicide

This report addresses that suicide is a public health issue. Media and online coverage of suicide should be informed by using best practices. Some suicide deaths may be newsworthy. However, the way media cover suicide can influence behavior negatively by contributing to contagion or positively by encouraging help-seeking.

Suicide Risk Factors

This webpage teaches readers that certain risk factors can increase a person’s risk for suicide. Keep in mind that recognizing these factors in yourself or others does not automatically mean you are suicidal or that someone is considering suicide.

Preventing Suicide

In this toolkit, readers learn that each one of us can play a vital role in ensuring that all young people, regardless of their sexual orientation, are provided with safe, accepting, and supportive environments at home, at school and in their communities.

No Name-Calling Week Educator Guide

The No Name-Calling Week Coalition created by GLSEN and Simon & Schuster Children’s publishing, consisting of over 40 national partner organizations, organized an actual No Name-Calling Week in schools across the nation. The project seeks to focus national attention on the problem of name-calling in schools, and to provide students and educators with the tools and inspiration to launch an ongoing dialogue about ways to eliminate name-calling in their communities.
