This information sheet describes the Sister to Sister program, a brief, one-on-one skill-based HIV/sexually transmitted disease (STD) risk-reduction behavioral intervention for sexually active African American women aged 18-45 years old who have male partners. The intervention is implemented in a primary health care setting by nurses, health educators, or other professional clinic staff, and is designed to be integrated into the provider’s standard clinical practice. The information sheet discusses the core elements of the program, the target population, program materials, and research results. This program is included in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Diffusion of Effective Behavioral Interventions (DEBI) projects.
