Know Hepatitis B Campaign

This information sheet discusses the Know Hepatitis B Campaign, the first national multilingual communications campaign to increase hepatitis B testing among Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. The campaign focuses Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders as they are one of the groups in the United States most affected by hepatitis B, which can cause potentially fatal liver damage and liver cancer. CDC conducted the campaign in partnership with Hep B United, a nationwide coalition of community organizations working to increase hepatitis B awareness and testing. The campaign appeals to the strong family ties in many Asian American and Pacific Islander communities by depicting hepatitis B testing as a way for individuals to take care of themselves and protect family members.
