NIH Herpes Simplex Strategic Plan 2023

This plan outlines the HSV research framework with four strategic priorities: improving fundamental knowledge of HSV biology, pathogenesis, and epidemiology; accelerating research to improve HSV diagnosis; improving strategies to treat HSV while seeking a curative therapeutic; and, advancing research to prevent HSV infection.

Latent TB Infection (LTBI) Talking Points for Civil Surgeons and Office Staff

These talking points can be used by civil surgeons and other health professionals on their staff. The talking points describe TB, explain the meaning of a positive TB blood test, and encourage patients diagnosed with latent TB infection to start and complete treatment. The talking points can be used throughout TB testing process that occurs during immigration medical examinations.

Global tuberculosis report 2023

WHO has published a global TB report every year since 1997. The main aim of the report is to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of the TB epidemic, and of progress in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease at global, regional and country levels. This report is updated annually.

What motivated you to join the Let’s Stop HIV Together campaign?

On November 30, NASTAD hosted a webinar, “Program Evaluation – Just the Basics.”This webinar provided a basic overview of program evaluation. It covered the importance of evaluation on the success of a program, common misconceptions about evaluation, and different kinds of evaluation commonly used by HIV prevention programs. 

Topics discussed were the general principles and key components of program evaluation processes using CDC’s framework for program evaluation, practical examples of evaluation tools including SMARTIE objectives, and logic models. 

Black Women Researchers and PrEP Webinar - Part Two

This webinar series is a partnership with the Atlanta Black Women Leaders On PrEP and NASTAD. The webinars provide a platform for Black women to share their research with a broader audience and discuss ways the public health community can provide support for their efforts.
