This videotape presents a comedic skit that illustrates the complexities involving care of a difficult inmate who has active TB disease and the collaboration needed to identify contacts and treat the inmate to cure. The videotape addresses transmission and infectiousness, medication regimen, length of treatment, and the need for good specimen collection and types of specimens.

This documentary film, On the Lake—Life and Love in a Distant Place, by David Bettencourt and G. Wayne Miller, reminds people across the United States that tuberculosis was the number-one killer in their country in the not so distant past.

Working Together to Stop TB

This 15-minute video provides basic TB information and promotes a collaborative approach to addressing TB in the African American community. Suggested venues for showing the video include waiting rooms in health department clinics, substance abuse treatment centers, correctional facilities, barbershops, and other community-based settings where educational content is appropriate.

Delivering HIV Rapid Test Results: Experiences from the Field is a short (approximately 30 minute) video that combines real stories from providers delivering rapid test results and clients learning their test results, as well as scripted vignettes that illustrate key points. It is designed so that it can be used both for individual study as well as in a group learning setting. There is also an accompanying 26-page discussion and resource guide.

This video discusses the challenges of childhood TB by telling the story of Mary, a five year old girl who lives in Africa. A community health worker helped her realize that her persistent cough may be TB.

This multi-lingual, animated video on TB and latent TB infection provides general information using simple messages on how TB is transmitted, the difference between latent TB infection and TB disease, as well as what people can do.
