In this report, health disparities are measured by examining differences in HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, STDs, and tuberculosis surveillance data with respect to such sociodemographic factors as race/ethnicity, sex, and age. In addition, where possible, disparities are measured by examining differences by sexual orientation and geographic location. This report includes a retrospective review of CDC surveillance data for HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, STDs, and tuberculosis over the period 2000-2004.

This report discusses the WHO/TDR sponsored evaluation of 19 commercially available rapid diagnostic tests for tuberculosis. The evaluation assessed diagnostic test performance, reproducibility, and operational characteristics.

Treatment Action Group (TAG) analyzes and reports on the annual
funding of tuberculosis (TB ) research and development (R&D). The top 40 TB
research funding institutions were surveyed for actual disbursements made for TB
R&D in fiscal years 2005, 2006, and now 2007. The three-year data reveal trends in
funding and demonstrates an alarming shortfall in the growth of TB R&D during the
initial years covered by The Global Plan to Stop TB: 2006–2015.

On 2–4 April, 2008 the WHO HIV/AIDS and TB Departments, in collaboration with other key partners, convened a meeting of international stakeholders to develop recommendations for WHO and guidance for national programs and their partners for implementation of the Three I’s for people living with HIV. Prevention and treatment of TB in people living with HIV is an urgent priority for both HIV/AIDS and TB programs.

This report describes the updated guidelines for using nucleic acid amplification tests in the diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB).

The Global Drug Facility (GDF) is a mechanism to expand access to, and availability of, high-quality anti-TB drugs and diagnostics to support the Stop TB Strategy.

WHO has published a global TB report every year since 1997. The main aim of the report is to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of the TB epidemic, and of progress in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease at global, regional and country levels. This report is updated annually.

This material is a collection of 45 examples of the prevention, control, and care of TB. There are examples from 21 countries, including 14 countries of high priority for MDR TB and countries with high and low TB incidence.

This roadmap describes ten priorities, grouped into three core themes, that address the major health and economic impacts of zoonotic TB.
