Be The Generation

 Be The Generation Logo
Be The Generation was created to promote awareness, understanding, and support for biomedical prevention research, including HIV vaccines, microbicides, pre-exposure prophylaxis research (PrEP) and treatment as prevention (TasP). The campaign was initiated under the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), HIV Vaccine Research Education Initiative (NHVREI) and later managed by the Be the Generation Bridge project, also created by NIAID. Both projects have now ended and the site is now being managed by the Office of HIV/AIDS Network Coordination (HANC), which works with the NIH funded HIV/AIDS clinical trials networks with the goal of creating a more integrated, collaborative and flexible research structure. The campaign featured a television commercial, a Web site, and a campaign toolkit that included brochures, fact sheets, stickers, and customizable posters. Community profiles, issues of the campaign's newsletters, and a downloadable quiz are still available from the Web site.
