RAISE & NASTAD’s webinar, “Methods for Assessing the Landscape of STI & HIV Services in Local Health Jurisdictions ” was held on Thursday, October 24th. The webinar discusses methods for conducting landscape analyses of STI & HIV services in local health jurisdictions. University of Washington researchers presented the rational for doing a landscape analysis, methods for data collection and analysis, and layering on patient-level data to complement provider-level findings.

This guide discusses that by the year 2030, 70% of people living with HIV are projected to be over the age of 50, but the country’s social services and healthcare infrastructure are not prepared to address their needs. Discrimination, criminalization, and loss of autonomy are huge challenges that can be barriers preventing people living with HIV from aging with dignity.
 

In 2019, NASTAD Drug User Health received CDC funding to oversee a demonstration project that would fund syringe services programs (SSPs) to provide patient navigation services for participants. Between 2020 and 2022, eight SSPs around the United States developed and implemented patient navigation services to facilitate engagement with medical and social services for people who use drugs (PWUD).
