This fact sheet describes the epidemiology of HIV/AIDS among women in the United States. It explains that women account for 20 percent of new infections and that women of color, particularly Black women, represent most of those infections. It provides statistics on new HIV infection among women and girls by age, transmission category, and race from 2010.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to examine delivery models of HIV-focused services (testing, linkage, engagement and retention in care) for high risk or already HIV+ infected youth and young adults. Applications should incorporate substance use into study aims and service delivery objectives should address access to substance use prevention, screening, & treatment
