Bio:
William Murphy has over 30 years of experience in the field of HIV, including 25 years working as an administrator in community health centers. As the Chief of Strategic Initiatives and a senior staff person on CAI’s CDC-funded National HIV Classroom Learning Center, Mr. Murphy helps to assure the delivery of high-quality training sessions to the nation's HIV workforce by a professional staff experienced in adult learning techniques. He has also led CAI's HRSA/HAB-funded Technical Assistance Provider innovation network, providing TA to the 47 jurisdictions and their partners funded as part of the Ending the HIV Epidemic in the US initiative. Mr. Murphy’s leadership in the field of HIV was recognized when he was appointed in 2014 to the NYS Governor’s Task Force to End the Epidemic, a group that developed New York State’s blueprint to end AIDS as an epidemic. Mr. Murphy is an expert in federally qualified health center operations and has a significant track record of overseeing programs and facilities for under-served populations including planning and launching new service sites most recently as the Executive Director of a Community Health Center in New York City. At CAI he has continued this work by collaborating with FQHCs on implementation of a trauma informed care model developed for primary care providers and, development of trauma informed care model for transgender youth. He is a leader of CAI's workforce development initiatives, including a CHW training certificate apprenticeship program. Mr. Murphy also provides expert assistance and support to healthcare organizations in the areas of strategic planning, organizational and cultural assessment and capacity building to improve operations.
