Bio:
Ricardo was born in La Vega, Dominican Republic. He completed a B.A. in Communications from Brigham Young University and an M.S. in Health Promotion, Education and Behavior Change from the University of Utah. He has worked over 19 years in public health; serving as the MSM Health Coordinator at the Utah AIDS Foundation, HIV/AIDS Minority Health Coordinator at the Utah Department of Health, Epidemiologist at the Palm Beach County Health Department, and STD Program Director at the Broward County Health Department. He joined CDC in 2009. He is currently the Southwest Regional Management Official with the Division of STD Prevention. Ricardo is also an emergency responder and has been recognized for his contributions during his deployment to support the CDC’s H1N1 mitigation efforts in an elementary school for Latino children in Chicago, the earthquake response in Haiti, and the cholera outbreak response in Haiti.
