Jose Romero

José A. Romero is based out of Durham, NC and works for the Latino Commission on AIDS as a Capacity Building Specialist in its Hands United division and a Director of Encuentro in the Latinos in the South program. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, they have worked as an interpreter/translator for several years with graduate training as a Cultural Anthropologist and research and work experience across the United States and Mexico. Their focus is on Black, Latinx, and low-income communities, particularly across the South. They have worked with advocacy groups, community based organizations, private parties, and socio-political formations of various kinds.
