Using the Favorite Feature and Changing Email Notifications

Using the Favorite Feature and Changing Your Email Notifications

Two features of the NPIN Community help members stay up-to-date on community activity and specific areas of interest. The Favorite feature allows users to see content they may be interested in- all in one place.

Changing Your Email Notifications allows users to select which content they would like to receive emails about. The email would go to the address users used when registering for the NPIN Community.

Using the Favorite Feature

Searching for Content in the Community

Searching for Content in the Community

Members can search for group content of any kind or by the type of post typing in a key word, title, or author. This function works for all content types in the Community: Conversations, Resources, Events, Collaborative Documents, and Polls within the group that the member is currently browsing. Click on the content type and then use the search function to search within that type.

See image of Group Files attached.

9. Start a Collaborative Document

Start a Collaborative Document

Another way to create content within your group(s) is by setting up a Collaborative Document. Community members can create a document that other members can edit, add citations, attach files, change dates, and make other changes toward a final document that represents the group. Collaborative Documents are good for creating project reports or policy statements, for example, allowing each team to contribute their input .

Exchanging Private Messages with Community Members

Another way to engage with other members in the Community is to exchange private messages. You may want to set up a meeting or ask about professional development or other questions not suitable for the entire group.

Reviewing and Sending Messages

Send a private message to a Community member using any of the following.

Participating in the Community
