Help Searching The NPIN Site

The NPIN Web site provides a site-wide search that will locate information from the entire site, including pages or documents on the Web site, information from the NPIN Organizations, Materials, Funding, News, and Campaign Resources databases, and content from the NPIN Community.  A search box is located at the top of every page on the Web site.  Mobile and tablet users can access the search by clicking on the menu icon at the top right of the screen.

SEARCH RESULTS PAGES AND NARROWING SEARCH RESULTS

Information matching the search terms entered will be displayed on search results pages.  Results are listed 10 per page, with page navigation provided at the bottom of every page.  The initial search results page will display all of the items matching the search.

Users are able to narrow the search results by selecting a specific category of search results and by using the specific filtering options provided for that category.

Results are grouped into the following categories:

These categories are displayed above the list of search results.  The number of search results returned for each category is listed in parentheses after each category name.  Clicking on a different category name narrows the search results and displays only results for that category.  The category being displayed is underscored in green.  Results are listed in relevancy order with the results most relevant to your search terms listed first.

The title of each item returned is hyperlinked to a details page that provides additional information.

The filters selected will be displayed at the top of the filter list, and clicking Reset Filters will take you back to the original search.

Search by Location

The Organizations search also enables users to search for organizations in a particular location.  Clicking the Search by Location button, displays a location search.  Simply enter a city, select a state from the dropdown or enter a zip code and click the search button.  If you are interested in organizations providing specific services, use the dropdowns to select them.
