Pilot and Feasibility Studies in Preparation for Substance Use Prevention Trials (R34 Clinical Trial Optional)

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to encourage pilot and/or feasibility research in the following areas: 1) the development and pilot testing of new or adapted interventions to prevent or delay the initiation of substance use and/or the progression from use to misuse or disorder and 2) pre-trial feasibility and acceptability testing of services and service system research relevant to the prevention of substance use.

Pilot Studies of Biological, Behavioral and Social Mechanisms Contributing to HIV Pathogenesis Within the Mission of the NIDDK (R21 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

his Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites applications for innovative basic and translational pilot research projects within the mission of the NIDDK that are aligned with NIH HIV/AIDS research priorities. These priorities were most recently outlined by the NIH Office of AIDS Research (OAR) in NOT-20-018, UPDATE: NIH HIV/AIDS Research Priorities and Guidelines for Determining HIV/AIDS Funding, scientific priorities. Potential topics could address multiple overarching priorities.

Tuberculosis Research Advancement Centers (P30 Clinical Trials Not Allowed)

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to solicit meritorious applications for the Tuberculosis Research Advancement Centers (TRACs) program. The main goal of these centers is to provide administrative and shared research support to foster and elevate multidisciplinary tuberculosis (TB) research and provide exceptional mentorship to New Investigators. TRACs will provide core facilities, services and mentoring opportunities to achieve the goals of the program.

Leveraging Big Data Science to Elucidate the Mechanisms of HIV Activity and Interaction with Substance Use Disorder (R01 - Clinical Trials Not Allowed)

The purpose of this FOA is to attract data and computational scientists to propose novel ways to integrate data of different types and scales to allow new types of analysis. It is expected that with the development and application of novel computational, bioinformatics, statistical, and analytical approaches, previously inaccessible insights will reveal new aspects of addiction biology.

The purpose of this initiative is to support studies to better understand the underlying mechanisms and interplay of biological, psychosocial and structural factors contributing to mood disorders in people living with HIV. Exploratory and high-risk research projects are appro?priate for this funding opportunity announcement. Applications testing a fully conceptualized and hypothesis-based solid premise founded with adequate preliminary data should consider applying to the companion R01 announcement RFA-MH-21-116.

2021 Empowering Communities to Address Behavioral Health and Chronic Pain through Chronic Disease Self-Management Education Programs

Through this funding opportunity, the Administration on Aging (AoA), part of the Administration for Community Living (ACL), plans to award approximately eight cooperative agreements to domestic public or private non-profit entities. This funding opportunity is designed to address behavioral health and/or chronic pain among older adults and adults with disabilities through the implementation of appropriate evidence-based self-management education and self-management support programs.

2021 Integrated Networks to Deliver and Sustain Evidence-Based Chronic Disease Self-Management Education Programs

Through this funding opportunity, the Administration on Aging (AoA), part of the Administration for Community Living (ACL), plans to award approximately 3 cooperative agreements to domestic public or private non-profit entities. The intent of these awards is to strengthen integrated networks that address the behavioral and social determinants of health of older adults and adults with disabilities, and increase the number of these individuals who participate in evidence-based chronic disease self-management education and self-management support programs.
