Martin Delaney Collaboratories for HIV Cure Research (UM1)

NPIN admin's picture
The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to address the problem of HIV persistence in HIV-infected persons treated with suppressive antiretroviral drug regimens. This FOA will support coordinated basic, translational, and clinical research focused on developing strategies to achieve an HIV cure, defined as sustained HIV remission and/or eradication. The application must include at least one private sector entity to facilitate rapid translation of basic discovery research into clinical studies.

HIV and AIDS in America: A Snapshot

NPIN admin's picture
This information sheet provides an overview of HIV/AIDS in the United States, including the number of persons with the disease. It states that the number of new infections has remained stable, but that an estimated 50,000 persons who become newly infected every year is too high. It notes that nearly 13,000 people with AIDS still die each year in the United States. The information sheet provides statistics on the heavily affected populations by risk group and race/ethnicity.

The Role of Exosomes in HIV Neuropathogenesis

NPIN admin's picture
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites small research grant applications focused on defining the central role of exosomes in the neuropathogenesis of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)-1 Associated Neurocognitive Disorders (HAND) and determining the potential use of exosomes as biomarkers for HAND or as delivery vehicles for CNS targeted therapeutics.

Methodologies to Enhance Understanding of HIV Associated Social Determinants (R01)

NPIN admin's picture
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites applications that propose to understand social determinants, that is, those social conditions and economic circumstances that influence health. In particular, this FOA solicits research to better characterize social determinants of health as they relate to HIV infection and disease outcomes.
