This pamphlet promotes the use of antiretrovirals to decrease the risk of HIV transmission from breast milk, while keeping the benefits of breastfeeding. It discusses the use of maternal ART for all women, rather than only immunosuppressed women, continuing during six months of breast feeding, and infant ARV prophylaxis using NVP, other methods including flash-heat methods, and breast-feeding duration.
