Spotlight on The Trevor Project for Transgender Awareness Month

For Transgender Awareness Month this November, NPIN News is highlighting The Trevor Project and ways to support transgender youth. The Trevor Project is a nonprofit organization focused on creating a loving and welcoming world for LGBTQ young people. Focusing on areas like crisis support, advocacy, research, and education, this organization is the world’s largest suicide and mental health organization for this community.

From resources and guides, like this on one understanding gender identities, to a 24/7 Crisis Line and virtual community, The Trevor Project provides several resources to support mental health and prevent suicide amongst LGBTQ young people.

Discover how you can better support transgender youth with this article on being an Ally to Transgender and Nonbinary Youth. For more information about the Trevor Project and to further explore their resources and research, check out their website.

If you or anyone you know is thinking about suicide, please call the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.
