Standard of Care for Patients with Chlamydia and Gonorrhea: Expedited Partner Therapy (EPT)

This factsheet was developed for providers and health plans in California.  It is meant to make a case for EPT and to touch on some of the most common questions or concerns that come up when state and local staff are encouraging the use of EPT during trainings, provider detailing, etc.  The answers are not intended to be comprehensive, but instead we aimed to provide a brief response to common questions along with a citation to where more detailed information can be found.

Implementing a checklist of security processes

Hello,

As part of our STD AAPPS grant, we have been asked to implement a checklist of processes for insuring confidentiality and security for data to be in place as recommended in the NCHHSTP Guidance. I see on page 45 of the guidance there is a Periodic Assessment Checklist. I'm not sure if we should develop our own based on this or if other jurisdictions have a similar "checklist" of processes already in place.

Thanks!

Request for One-Page Guide or Other Tools for STD DIS and Clinicians on the Algorithm for the 4th Generation HIV Test

An STD Program has contacted NCSD and is looking for a one page “cheat sheet” for HIV testing, focused on the 4th generation test algorithm.  This would be mainly geared toward their DIS so they have a quick guide for interpreting test results that come their way but could also be useful for STD clinicians. Please share any resources your program has created by responding to this post with comments and or attached documdents. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

STD/HIV Outbreak Response Plan

Greetings everyone. South Carolina is seeking input from states or jurisdictions that have already developed, not necessarily tested, an Outbreak Response Plan that incorporates HIV. Anybody out there has been able to combine STDs (e.g. syphilis) and HIV successfully? Any input will be greatly appreciated. JP.
