Maine Community AIDS Partnership: General Fund Announcement.

The Maine Community AIDS Partnership (MCAP), a project of the United Way of Greater Portland and the Maine Community Foundation and an affiliate of the National AIDS Fund, seeks to bring new resources to HIV prevention and services throughout Maine. All projects should be based upon the findings and recommendations of MCAP's needs assessment, "Maine: A Report on HIV/AIDS Needs." MCAP is interested in projects that: expand organizational capacity to provide education, prevention programs, or services; may be expected to have a significant impact yet are difficult to fund; and enhance collaboration. Particular interests are projects that provide education or services to women and/or children under age 13; projects that provide education or services to persons with dual or triple diagnoses, including needle exchange programs; and projects that address the many issues surrounding persons living longer on the new medications.
