Studies of HIV in Digestive Diseases Limited to Gastrointestinal Mucosal Immunology and Liver Diseases (R01)

NPIN admin's picture
The goal of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to support innovative, basic and translational, nonexempt human subjects research in two areas, gastrointestinal (GI) mucosal immunology and liver disease. The emphasis for GI mucosal immunology is on elucidation of mechanisms whereby innate and adaptive immunity in the GI tract interacts with HIV infection in the presence or absence of antiretroviral therapy (ART) and contributes to GI pathology.

Elucidating HIV and HIV-treatment Associated Metabolic/Endocrine Dysfunction (R01)

NPIN admin's picture
The goal of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to support innovative research in humans to elucidate the role of HIV infection, including relevant host conditions or antiretroviral therapy, on metabolic and endocrine dysfunction, as well as to support innovative research delineating the pathophysiology, etiology, risk or protective factors, and potential strategies to prevent, treat, or reverse endocrine and metabolic dysfunction in HIV-infected individuals. Proposed projects must involve human subjects with HIV infection or materials or data from HIV-infected individuals.

Innovative Research in HIV in Kidney, Urology, and Hematology (R01)

NPIN admin's picture
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites applications for innovative research projects examining the basic and clinical aspects of HIV infection, treatment, and long-term sequelae as they relate to the mission of the Division of Kidney, Urologic and Hematologic Diseases within NIDDK (KUH/NIDDK).

NIDCR Small Research Grants for Oral Health Data Analysis and Statistical Methodology Development (R03)

NPIN admin's picture
The goal of this funding opportunity announcement is to support meritorious research projects that involve secondary data analyses of existing oral or craniofacial database resources, or to develop needed statistical methodology for analyzing oral and craniofacial data using existing oral or craniofacial databases. The R03 grant mechanism supports research limited in time and amount for studies in categorical program areas.

Integrated Family Planning Program (IFPP)

The goal of the FP Integrated Project is to increase use of modern contraceptive methods by target populations. This project’s target populations, defined below, have a high unmet need for family planning.1 The project goal supports the Government of the Republic of Mozambique (GRM) and Ministry of Health (MISAU) priorities related to improving the health of Mozambicans by increasing access to and use of voluntary family planning and contraceptive methods.

Adherence Studies in Adolescents with Chronic Kidney or Urologic Diseases (R01)

NPIN admin's picture

Adherence to a prescribed treatment regimen, including medications, devices and behavioral recommendations, can significantly impact morbidity and mortality for patients with chronic diseases, including chronic kidney or urologic disease. When adherence to complex and seemingly rigid treatment regimens is poor, the results can be tragic. Adolescence is a particularly challenging time for adherence given the competing demands in an adolescents life, the unique developmental changes, and rapidly changing set of responsibilities as they transition to adulthood.

Sustainable Condom Solutions Project (SCSP)

NPIN admin's picture

The project will build national capacity to support sustainable systems; increase the availability and accessibility of condoms; and implement a strategic and tailored approach to increase the demand and use of condoms. The overall goal of the project is to reduce the transmission and acquisition of HIV in the highest prevalence regions of Côte d’Ivoire among vulnerable populations.
